This was a good lesson learned. Heavy load that takes up most of the well equals a 2-4ft stretch. Good point on checking for length.

I think it depends on the pusher size. Being west coast trucks I imagine they are 12-13,000 pound pushers. If so then they are no good. A lot of the eastern states want no more than a 20% variance. So at least 18,000 if you have 20 on a drive.

Back to the flip neck. I think I have IMG_9114.jpeg figured out how to use it when I need to disconnect from the trailer. see picture below

before disconnecting from the trailer, put a chain in binder on the D rings of the flip neck to hold her place when I disconnect my fifth wheel.

The flip neck looks weird in the image that’s because when I had flipped it down I had forgot to take the rollers off main neck so I was resting on that and I had to use chains and binders to relieve the tensions off the rollers so I could take them off.

How are you planning on getting the bottom pins out of the flip box while hooked up? Does the flip box have rollers?

You use the main necks rollers for the flip box. You have to remove the rollers because that's where the top pins go of the flip box attach to. I didn't have to touch the bottom pins at all.

I think I see what your getting at. The top pins that are now the bottom pins when the flip box is being used. Now if I wanted to keep the flip neck upright would I have to remove the bottom pins? I'm not sure about that and would have to test this out.
I will be able to test this out Monday when I am getting PM done on the trailer and moving into my new truck. I will need to operate the flip box without forklift and I will get whatever tools needed to do it efficiently and thoroughly. IMG_9115.jpeg IMG_9118.jpeg IMG_9119.jpeg

A buddy of mind built this to flip his flip-box, it worked for him. The 4X4 is loose and falls out of the way as the box gets to 90* flip box tipper.jpg
