Most likely there are witnesses at that time of day. That intersection is the entrance to the hospital, and the industrial park with a lot of factories is just about a mile east.

The truck came to rest WELL under a thousand feet from the hospital atrium/ER entrance. There is a lot of glass for people to be looking out! I bet EMT's were there in less than 3 minutes. The fire department is volunteer, so that would take a little while.

The driver is a "real" owner op with his own DOT number. Most like let he had paper logs, and they are or falsified. I would imagine the DOT is going through those with a fine tooth brush. If has pre pass, many weigh stations will have a record of when he passed. He will have fuel receipts. If he paid cash for any tolls, I bet he had the toll receipts in the dash cubby hole. I for see more charges filed.

Did anyone insinuate that in this thread? If so, where?

IMO, as well as that of many scientific studies alcohol is one of the worst drugs available. It is quite asinine that alcohol is legal and marijuana is still fighting thru in many states and the federal government. Based upon many studies there are actual benefits of marijuana use, never heard of a single benefit from alcohol use. It annoys me to no end when someone says I have never done drugs but drink like a fish....silliness. Just my thoughts, however, congratulations on your sobriety.

You know, by golly you are absolutely right! People do judge other people, and from your user name, to your posts, it is my judgement that you are nothing more than a troll, trying to start crap.

Alcohol is legal, but not allowed in your system while on duty or anywhere inside the cab of a CMV. Even if weed is legalized same should apply, maybe but probably not. As for now it's still a banned substance.
Seriously you say there isn't a single benefit of alcohol? That's a very asinine statement. Although it can be abused like anything else moderate use while off duty on hometime actually has some benefits. According to many medical professionals.
And on a side note, how many of us wouldn't actually be here if it wasn't for alcohol.

    DoubleO7 Thanks this.

I just took the paper log comment to mean .....

I'm not trying to be argumentative or defend paper. When drugs are involved the logging device is a mute point

If you are hyped up in meth, 11 hrs is not enough drive time. That is the point.

Do you understand what it means?

an action or event preceding or preparing for something fuller or more important.
