Right now the dump truck business down here is unstable AF and forget about that $85 an hour rate, you would be lucky getting half of it.

Oh same here the DOT would be VERY busy if they decided to start watching dumptrucks around here! Everyone of them is 20k over weight at any given moment....
Usually pretty dang nice trucks around here though.... -
I average $3 - $5.50 per ton. A few as high as $11 per ton to the truck. Run Central Florida with a tandem tractor and tri-axle trailer. Am I getting rich? No, but I'm not losing yet either. Truck is not ragged out but not a show queen either

I got pulled in for inspection in Ocala last time in. He wrote me up for my reverse light being out. I was like OMFG,.. seriously?
It started out when I pulled onto the scale with my spread open. He came out with the tape measure. I whipped out my annual permit. Ok he said,.. pull around back. Here we go.
HurstCabinover101, Steinbrenner and spyder7723 Thank this. -
I've been thinking about this recently for work out of the Tampa, FL area. Would be great if I could find a good, used dump truck somewhere close by as opposed to several states away or something. Don't know anything at all about this side of trucking though.
