Ive been running a lot of loads out of Miami back to Boston, my problem is 19 out of my last twenty times over the scales N. or S. bound i have had to get weighed if i am empty loaded or bobtailing one time i got the green light and never thought i would get it that one time. The sign says 45 i can go 40 45 or 50 and i always get the red arrow. Even bobtailing, this is getting to be a pain. Anyone have any idea how to cross these dam things and get the green arrow. I was at the new one at mm 92 the other day five trucks in one line so i think my arrow will send me to the other line, no get behind the others and waited 15 min. for the creeper cops to clear trhe line., What gives?

It has alot to do with the company that you drive for.

I-95, big drug corridor. Some of them "inspectors" might be DEA boys looking to make a bust. That's going on here in Az. big time.......
-
Seems like I get stopped more when I am empty or loaded heavy.

You aint the only one driver, they do everyone like that. I go down there every week and thats just how they are driver. Its nothing you can really do about it, they do me and everybody else like that. Sorry but that just something you gonna have to getr use to, when traveling down there.

Since you have already entered the scale, it has nothing to do with the company you drive for, as RM sugests. It has everything to do with the percent of trucks that particular coop has set to bring into the static. Each coop can set the percentage of trucks they wish to bring to the static. A few months ago, the scale master in Punta Gorda told me since truck traffic thru the scalehouses has dropped (economy) they were seeing less trucks comming into the static, so they set the percentage higher that get the red, or percentage lower that get the green bypass.
Typicaly, I usually gross between 75-80,000, going into Florida and at the SB White Springs scale I will always get brought into the static. Then when I get down to the SB Wildwood scale, I will often get to stay in the 45mph bypass. I chalk this leniency up to the fact that they know most trucks have already been checked at White Springs.
Just last week, empty, I too got pulled into the static at the new coop at the 92 stick. I think they are still working the bugs out of that one. I sat on the static for a good 10 seconds it seemed. Since this coop is new, none has a real "feel" for it yet, but if it becomes known as a problem coop (and I doubt it will) there's always the turnpike.
Basicaly you can count on no ryme or reason for getting the bypass or pulled in, as you've obviously experienced.
Lastly, speeds significanly lower/higher than 45 will trigger the red. I wish guys would heed the 'MAINTAIN 45 MPH' signs. I see waaaay to many who drop to 25-30 mph. -
magmum, could the state brokeand looking tto generat revenue, just my guess, the way the citys and state are laying off people, just think short handed, more traffic less likely to red light you????just a thought<then again mabey im compleatly wrong

There has to be a reason why a particular coop(s) wants to maintain the same number of trucks brought into the static that they have always been used to in years past, even though there are fewer trucks running today. I don't know if we can go the "revenue" route here, but I will go so far to suggest it's at the very least, a means to justify their existance, without cutting the workforce.
With less trucks running, the arguement could be made that there's less need for men to man the coops. But with the same number of trucks brought in, as in years past, the arguement could be made to still man the coops with at least the manpower they have always used.
The state also wanted to cut wages by 10%, but I don't know if that ever materialized. If so, not happy scalemasters.
As an aside, the decision has been made to build a new SB coop across the street from the one at the 92. Should happen within 2 years. Obviously Florida still has money to blow........... -
I always seem to get pulled in empty.but get green light when loaded.even at the new ones on I4.guess they know I need the money and don't want to hold me up..lol

I know of several guys that drive for companies that are on the inspect list. They get inspected quite frequently.
I was running with another driver and they called him us both in to check our windshields. I had an inspection sticker. My buddy did not.
He was told the reason for the inspection, was the lack of the sticker.
I also do not disagree with yours as well.
