I was in the local Flying J in Fort Chiswell, VA (MM 80, I81) this evening at about 6pm, everything there was operating as usual... trucks fueling, restaurant open and busy, auto c store going, etc.

That's a real nice attitude. There's a lot of business's that I don't like but I don't want them to fail. If the flying J goes under all drivers will suffer.Brickman, AfterShock and luvtheroad Thank this. -
It is amazing that some people do not think of the overall effect if this happens.
1. Loss of lots of parking spots. More parking problems.
2. Loss of fueling locations. Bigger lines at remaining stops.
3. Loss of competition. Increase in fuel prices.AfterShock, panhandlepat, luvtheroad and 1 other person Thank this. -
if the hook was to go under they would just be rebranded, probably be turned into pilots like the williams were, pilot is always looking for a good T/s to trash.
-
J in Peru, IL was out of fuel yesterday (Wed). Not a good sign.
-
When was the last time you heard that another brand of truckstop was low on fuel or out?
It seems to happen at Flying J's alot. -
that will never happen, someone would step in and buy them like pilot or t/a-petro or someone new?
-
Not immediately.
Look at the old dixie truckstop on 90 and the one on 57. No one bought them.
