My company just changed to using Pilot/Flying J over Loves and I was curious if there was a marked difference in shower quality. I've always preferred Love's because of how clean it typically is.

I always thought Loves were bigger and the best, but Pilot and Flying J are nice as well.

Compared to a shower head with a nasty curtain around it in an antiquated men’s room, with hair all over the slimy floor, they are all 5 star today.

Love's has been getting worse these days.
Mainly the shower heads, but lately the water temp has been going down as well.
The last Love's I went into had the temp so low I just shaved and walked out without using the shower.
    I really hate cold showers.

Their shower heads were the best. They had a nice range of motion and were adjustable. And there are usually two of them, high and low.
But they are replacing the nice ones with cheap garbage. The newest stores only have the crappy ones.

I have sent some comments in to the Love's website expressing my dissatisfaction, and I hope others will do the same.

I have also mentioned that I fuel at Love's for the shower credits.
If I am no longer happy with their showers, I will fuel someplace else.

They can cheap out on the shower heads and try to save money by lowering the water temp, but how will that affect their bottom line if the actual cost is that much less fuel being sold and fewer products being sold?

I did notice those shower heads leak around the swivel quite often. I personally haven't had issues with water temperature, but I have noticed mold growing in the air vents. I'm just worried the showers will be worse at a pilot out flying j

PFJ showers are all, or at least a lot of them, are getting remodeled slowly but surely. The remodeled PFJ showers are just as nice as the new Love's showers and just as spacious too. There are some PFJ showers that shut down on 3rd shift, which is BS. The Flying J in Mandan, ND has not had showers from around 10:00pm - 6:00am for about a year now and they won't let you bring your own towels/let you clean it out real quick yourself either.

I agree with Moosetek about the quality of Love's showers slipping a little bit, but I have NEVER been denied a shower at Love's during 3rd shift. I might have to wait 10 minutes for them to make time to clean one out, but they have never straight up told me that I can't have a shower like some PFJ's have been doing on 3rd shift ever since 2020 (I don't ever remember it happening before 2020).

Oh and by the way, there's certain PFJ's where 3rd shift has the labor (2 people working) to clean the showers during 3rd shift, but are too lazy to clean the showers. So they'll just straight up shut them down for the night. A common excuse will be "the warm water isn't working" and yet the bathroom has warm water? Or they'll say something is wrong with the showers. Look at Truckers Path reviews and you'll see a pattern at some of these PFJ's, where the showers are always down on 3rd shift.

I honestly can't believe Buffet allows that crap to go on when he's invested hundreds of millions of dollars into PFJ and is remodeling the showers at all the stores. To be fair it's not that often that PFJ restricts access to showers during 3rd shift, but it does happen from time to time and at some stores way more than others (like the Mandan, ND location).

On a recent trip from Colorado, to Portland, I found, Loves was without question, the best of the bunch, and I told every cashier that. I didn't take a shower but the restrooms were always clean, even at 3am. Employees were helpful, and just shows to go ya', a good organization is told by the workers there.

Pj /fj showers generally ok-ish. The upside to fueling at pj/fj is better points and if you are stuck needing to reserve a pay spot you can pay with points.

Find a fellow truck, driver, that you trust… That fuels at loves all the time… Exchange pictures of your card so you can fuel at loves or pilot flying J, and the other person can fuel at loves and pilot flying. J also…
I prefer to fuel at pilot flying J… So I always have shower power. My friend always fuels at loves, so he always has unlimited showers. We exchange cards and share our shower excesses!
This way, you can fuel at flying J, but still stop for a shower at Lowe’s if you find that’s what you prefer…
