Keep in mind, with these cutbacks and closings, we're witnessing the best case scenario for Flying J. What do you think will happen if the Pilot "merger" isn't approved by the feds?

I have yet to pay $25 or more at a T/S for a single meal. As far as the quailty of food its up to the cook on how good it it is. There are 3 J's I won't eat at. There are the J's in Bakersfield and Ripon on 99 and the J in Lodi on I-5. I avoid eating there if I can because I almost always get food poisioning.

Mom and Pops seem to be disappearing in every industry. I guess us truckers will need work with what is out there. It is a shame when a relatively good corporate stop like J wastes away.

I got there about 7:35 am and noticed that the offerings were not that good. Shredded potatoes, link sausages, oatmeal, grits, pancakes (but you had to special order them from the waitress) and scrambled eggs.

The new "off hours" for the Country Market restuarant is 12 midnight to 5 am.

As I went to get seconds, I reached into the stack of plates in the plate holder and got back not one but three consecutive plates that WERE NOT CLEAN.

I whirled around looking for a waitress. One finally saw that I was in a panic and said, "What's wrong"?

"Ugh, don't you all do quality control when you bring out the plates from the dishwashing machine"?

    "Oh. Sorry".

As I was about ready to leave they brought out the fresh fruit and some kind of lemon filled donuts. ####, just when I am leaving, more food comes out. Why is this a timing problem with them?

So, I stayed behind for an forty-five minutes to make sure that I got my monies worth.

They tell us due to health department regulations to wash our hands and use a fresh plate every time we go to the buffet. Okay.

    BUT

apparently, they aren't following their own rules.

My bill averages around $15 including tip.

Re: Outback... just where is there an Outback with Truck accessible parking??? They are almost always in shopping centers with parking lots designed to keep us out!
