I 2nd the Cracker Barrel. Been to several that were trucker friendly. And that was stretched out to 80', 12' wide, 14'7" high. Not all. Food has almost always been very good.
Flying J Restaurants will no longer be open 24 hours.

The Outback in Flagstaff, Az. has truck parking on the street facing east. Along side the frontage road across the Interstate from Little America (Exit 198). Years ago, I ate at an Outback near Atlanta (suburb area) that had tons of truck parking. They shared a parking lot with a Target etc, I remember. In Laughlin, Nv. there is an Outback inside the Aquarius Casino/hotel. If ever in Laughlin, there is an additional parking lot (paved) across from the Nugget casino, probably 20 acres. In Kingman, Az. there is a Cracker Barrel with a dirt lot next door for truck parking. (exit 51, north to Airway, right on Airway and left into the lot.) Wal-Mart in Kingman still allows truck parking also. (Super center) But you would be much better off parking in the lot just south of the Wal-Mart behind the AM/PM. Exit 51 north, take the first right, Beverly Av. also the frontage rd., and pull in the 2nd driveway near the closed down Whataburger bldg. You can park 50 trucks easily and not be in anyone's way.

simplyred1962 Betty Boop, One Bodacious Babe!!!
With this Pilot/Flying J "merger NOT take-over"...does anyone know what is going to happen with our more than $500 dollars worth of points we could ONLY use in the restaurants, or for on-line purchases at the J site???
Thanks!

I haven't read all the replies on here but I think that the restaurants that are in less busy flying J's are closing. I don't go to the J anyways because I have to fuel at a Pilot, but once in a while I stop in at one anyways for a pop or something. I think some are closed, some close during overnight hours, and others stay open all day.
I did my route solo on Turkey day and ended up at a Flying J. We ate the dinner buffet there as well as the breakfast...I think it was 15-18 bucks each time. With the wife. For their pancakes...I think they must have received quite a few complaints about dry pancakes or something; which is why they make em fresh. Plus I noticed they sell their pancake mix...like a sweet mix or something.

I know the the J in South Beloit,IL will be changing over to a Denny's soon as well as several other of the restaurants will be going over as well. Looks like the Pilot effect is taking hold

March 2010 is "marching" closer and closer. Anyone have more news (today is January 29. 2010) about the changes to Flying J's restuarants be they sit down or take out fast food due to the merger with Pilot?
Thanks !
