This has to be one of the worst J's I have been to. Day or nite the lot lizzerds are all over the place knocking on the door. Food sucks and the managment is no better. Back in Aug 03 I went in about 9pm and parked, went to eat shower and go to bed. sometime between 1030 and 1145 a #### RV parked next to me. Around 12am I woke up when my reefer shut down. I went out and guess what....Yep some ### hole had turned it off. so I fired it back up and went back into the truck to try to get back to sleep. 30 min later it was turned off again. This time after I fired back up again I sat down in the driver seat and waited for the jerk to come back.... and yes you guessed it....The guy in the RV came out and walked up to the reefer. Well long story short I met him by the reefer with a meat hook and we had some words and he went to get the on duty manager.
so when the manager came out I told him what had been going on and if the cat in the RV did not like the reefer then he should go find a RV park to spend the night at because this is a truck stop. The manager said to me that he could stay( RV ) and I had to go. I was like WTF!!! You guessed it cops were called...The cop was cool as hell, he lit that guy in the RV up like a forest fire....Bad thing is I still had to get out of the J cuz the manager said so ( cop said that was BS, but it is privete property and he had no choice in that matter) So I have not been to a Flying Jerk other then to park, but I wont spend any money in that place.
Sorry I know this is a VERY long story but I wanted to pass it on. -
small lots....crappy food...i cant ever get the kiosk deals to work...showers smell like feet or hiney....
but darn it if the scales arent right on, and i get a cash discount on fuel -
The J about 1 hour outside St.Louis MO (I44, Exit 226) has to have the BEST buffet I have had in a truck stop, with a good size lot to park.

Cheap smokes, too. $24.50/carton for Marlboros.

It amazes me that there isn't some sort of locking cover, or even another keypad with a PIN to get access to the reefer controls. I mean, if he had taken your load of frozen pizzas and set the reefer to 80 degrees, would it still have waken you?

Maybe you should tell your story to that guy on the FlyingJSux website.

Flying hook built new 1996 on the hill in Albquerque. The truck scale was built elevated with smooth paved sides. The place had only been open a couple weeks and wouldn't you know it. Some Pro Driver has a rollover accident right there at the scale with a full load of produce. I saw it myself.
