no reason to have break lights come on with the jakes. just tap your break lights once as you start to Jake to make sure the person behind you is paying attention. witch your probably gonna do to kick the cruse control out.

A 2014 Peterbilt 386 doesn't turn on the brakes lights or hazards when the jakes come on. Neither did the 2012 Cascadia or 2011 T660 that I drove.

I know none that do - and I've seen none that do. Watched for it especially, since seeing this thread, over several mountain grades in the past few days. Never happened to any truck I saw.

I think it became a "programmable" option in 2011 on Freightshakers.

I drive for Stevens Transport our brake lights come on when your foot comes off the accelerator, if your jake is on.

This thread started in 2013!! How do y'all find this stuff?! Lol! I drive a 2016 Pete car carrier and there is a parameter to turn off the brake lights on Engine brakes. I just got mine turned off on the last PM. Got tired of everyone telling me I was going to burn up my brakes going down mountains. Even though when fully loaded I hardly ever touch the brakes.

ON GUARD. Mine done the same thing.I almost killed the lady in the left lane one rainy day a couple weeks ago coming thru Austin, TX. I was in the center lane, and it detected an 4 lane overpass and locked down hard.I slid over into the left lane she was in she went to the jersey wall and i was still headed toward her, and the the brakes released just in time. I took the next exit, and sat there for 15 min.thanking God. That has to be the worst thing they could put on a truck.I took it to the KW dealer they said that the radar was out of alignment.Works ok now but its hard to trust it now. There should be a fault signal or something to warn driver. It can warn you when your about to mess up, but it cant warn you when its messes up. Who is at fault if this would have been a fatality. The driver doesn't have 100% control.
