Truckstops for me is a sort of battleground because just a parking spot might be a problem in it. I go in slow and let her tick over at idle while moving slow to evaluate potential spots.
I do NOT whatever the spot is, do NOT pull straight in especially if someone can park behind you to the side of the road you used to get to it. You would be trapped there.
Barring truckstops, I put food and drink into the tractor and go find a mountain side to park on. Usually there is a little bit of logging road, river boat launch point or some other small gravel pad to the side on the mountain where you can get absolute quiet (OTher than Jake Braking etc) far away from ###### and so on. Very peaceful.
It's not always possible.

Why the he'll would you want to wake up a sleeping driver.
What happens when that driver can't get back to sleep and heads out on the Hwy tired and takes out a family in a minivan.
All because you think your a parking cop.
Oh and by the way NO IM NOT ONE OF THOSE DRIVERS.
I don't ever park where someone will need to ask me to move.QuietStorm and pattyj Thank this. -

The level of stupid and being a major impediment in the primary egress route for everyone leaving the truck stop, to get me to use my horn is pretty significant. I think I've only done it twice. But it's better to be waken up that way then have somebody hit you.
