If you think that's disgusting you would not want to go in the restroom here this afternoon. And no it's not the truckstops fault. But some creature low life scum bag decided crapping on the floor in the stall was better then using the toilet 6 inches away. I wonder why nobody lets us park bunch of disgusting pigs. Poor cleaning lady.

When I pulled into the J in San Beloit tonight every fake spot was full. I, Roehl, a reefer and a flatbed all had pull thru spots. There were approximately 60 open spots left, not counting across the street. This is usually what I find when I pull into Pilot, FJ, and Loves.

I had originally planned on getting down to McLean, but I had to stop and make a phone call, weather was becoming unpleasent (not bad at all but not worth driving thru), so I shut down early.

Friday night I could easily have knocked out another 75 miles with the time I had left. Had I done so I would have made it home Saturday night. I elected to shut down early because I was worried about finding a spot. I wanted enough time left to hit a bail out hidey hole.

If I do have to get creative (it happens once hit every truck stop between Dallas and Sulfur Springs without finding a spot), I sleep ready to get up and move. If I have to move I try and find a real spot. If I'm not forced I get up 5-6 am and put myself in a spot, then go back to bed and finish getting the rest I need - to heck with delivering on time.

We as drivers need to push back against shippers, receivers, and dispatchers when a load is theoretically possible if there was parking exactly where and when you need it. The reality is much different and the more we push back the more we make shippers, receivers, ND dispatchers take note of the realities of trucking.

I personally have little problems finding a spot(mostly). I just avoid all the major chains. Those are where this mess happens. I also shut down a little early if I know the next place is going to be packed. And anyone who's been out here any lenght of time knows what stops stay packed and which ones always have a spot or two. Like the t/a in cincy, is full no matter what time. And noble's old truck stop is always wide open.

Man, this thread I'd going nowhere fast!

    Bottom line:

Those that have a sense of civility and respect to the property owners and know what they're doing so they don't put themselves in a predicament to screw over others by adhering to the rules, I thank you for that.

Those that think they are entitled, special (ED maybe), renegades, or privileged and think civility, order and respect don't apply to them, then good luck with life and success. You'll be awakened soon enough.

Driver's ability to find a spot is equal to the driver's ability to back up into the space that others can't

Parking at night, especially east of Mississippi river will be a rude awakening next year for those who run on ELDS now, and also those who don't. I don't exclude the possibility of making a list of cheap motels allowing truck parking. If I have to shut down for 10 hours It cannot be on an exit ramp near dark woods where the walking dead may come and eat me.

Very true. But how about we just segregate all truckstops by company for example 1 swift fuel lane 1 cr England fuel lane 1 mercer fuel lane 1 Abilene fuel lane 1 independent fuel lane and x number of parking spots for every group and certain number of showers and toilets for each group. Lol
