It doesnt really matter what rules they come up with as long as we are paid BY THE MILE, we will never make enough money to go to bed when we are tired! If they really gave a rat turd about safety, they would address the pay issue too! The only pay issue they care about however is how much of our pay they can steal from us!
I'll bet a year's pay that whatever they come up with will mean drivers will take home even less money than we do now!
FMCSA apparently to reconsider HOS rule from scratch

Okay guys, how about if I make the dumbest suggestion possible???
How about if we write to Public Citizen and let THEM know about the issues with QUALITY rest?
Let them know exactly what is going on, make them an ally instead of an enemy... because apparently, FMSCA is listening to them when they are not listening to us... Might accidently work. -
so what do you drivers think the new hos will be

Though I am retired now I firmly believe that they should keep the 34 hour restart rule and the 11 hour driving rule. There's really no evidence that either has a major impact on safety. I believe the 14 hour maximum should be addressed and frankly allow time spent in the sleeper berth to extend the 14 hour rule. I believe that by drivers not being able to rest when they need to contributes more to unsafe and tired drivers than anything. Shippers and receivers that take hours to load or unload cannot be regulated by the DOT,FMCSA, or the trucking company. Driver's should be allowed some flexibility in the HOS to offset this. JMO. Won't mean a #### thing to the FMCSA or the ATA. Whatever the FMCSA wants the ATA will go along with it and the driver be ######. I firmly believe the ATA is a major part of the problem in this industry and cause far more harm than good. I also believe now is the time for DRIVER's to contact the FMCSA,OOIDA, ATA, and your congressional representative or senator and let them know how you feel. This thing ain't gonna be won here or on the side of the road, it's gonna be won in DC. Let'em know how you feel.
