I find this interesting. I wanted to buy a laptop and take it with me when I'm on the road. Is the question at hand all laptops or those within view of the driver while driving, as was stated in the article.

OOIDA Member Gerald Cook was ticketed by an Arizona DOT officer in late May at the San Simon Port of Entry. The officer cited Cook under FMCSR 393.88, which prohibits commercial drivers from keeping screens capable of receiving a television broadcast from view when the driver is at the wheel.

I didn't pull out my copy of the FMSCR to look at the wording, but I'll believe this as it is paraphrased. So if it is in the sleeper, is it OK then? I find it interesting because that is my next expense. I passed my Nebraska CDL road test today. I'll get my physical license next week after I study for the hazmat endorsement and take the test.
