I just got the following email from DAT about the brokers bonds, and although I cannot find any reference to this on the web, I thought I'd better share, since many people will be checking this information.

Maybe the Senate shut them down too.

I suspect that this is most likely they have not put the system through a "run". You know it takes time for the CSA scores to update, and AIRC its every 30 days, I believe around the 25th of the month for ours. This very well could be the case with the bonds as well. I just figured I'd post it here to make others aware of it.

FMCSA is affected by the puppet shutdown.

What I got from the email is that FMCSA is updating their own database, just not pushing the data out to DAT. DAT could put a bit more effort into it and have a developer spend a day designing and writing a script that manually pulls that data from the public interface when a user requests it. They have provided a simple workaround that takes you to the public interface page so that you can look it up yourself, but I feel that they can and should do more for their paying customers instead of throwing their hands up and saying 'that's all we can do folks, we're waiting on the government now. '

The thing is, if the interface is already set to take the "push" from the FMCSA, then why should they have to rewrite the software? This should have been addressed prior to the enforcement. I'm sure that other load boards are effected, not just DAT.

Oh, trust me - I'm not defending the government. They pay their contractors enough that they should have gotten this right. I'm simply pointing out that DAT seems to be shifting the blame and applying a cheap band-aid rather than stepping up to the plate.

A court order was issued suspending the bond increase. FMCSA has ignored it and an army of lawyers that have been fighting this bond are back in front of the judge this morning letting him know that they are violating the order.

It is going to get interesting.
