FMCSA study looks at driver monitoring system

I was wondering what they were going to come up with to mandate after the tracking devices,on board recorders and governors they are trying to mandate now are finally in the trucks, looks like we just got a preview.

We all agree we want safe and legal truckers right?
Unemployment is bad,right?

We take every truck and hire a welfare receipiant to WATCH the truckdriver. He/she can by the governments eyes and ears to make sure we are safe and legal at all times!

this plan kills several birds with 1 stone.

 

Okay...but first I want them put in the millions of 4 wheelers on the roads and see how THAT solves the safety problem on the nations roads!!

I WILL NOT drive if I have to have that thing in my truck!!

 

This is going way to far,when will we stand up and fight!!!!!!!

 

I don't like it. If they are doing it to truckers then I may be next. I really don't want anyone watching me put on lipstick or curse out the slow poke in front of me whike I drive.

I don't have any statistical proof; but for some reason I thought there were more fatal accidents caused by drunk drivers and teenagers than big rig drivers? Then again I'm new to the forum and I'm not a trucker so what do I know?

 

That won't work for 4 wheelers. I knew a guy in Texas that had so many DUIs the state installed a breathalizer in his car so he had to blow clean just to start it. The guy was so drunk when I met him he could barely stand up, but he was able to start the car right up with a compressed air tank.
