This is covered in here - Trucking Industry Regulations

They are paying lip service to us per the laws setup to allow public comments but the truth seems to be more or less they've got their minds made up of what they are going to do.

Then if only getting a lip service it is time for a nationwide shut down, with the shelves bare and the general public moaning you will have the attention then. But they always pull in drivers from somewhere and it really will not make a difference. It would have to be everyone, not just a few renegades.

The only changes that will squeak in most likely will help certain big ATA players who misjudged some of the effects of a true Elog over a Eobr ..

Ha ha ha, this isn't the 1970's and we don't have leaders like Hoffa anywhere.

We are a fractured industry, why do you think I am always complaining about the crackerjack licensing, being looked down because we are not part of those skill trades and the lack of professionalism among all of us in this industry?

Could it be that I am among those who've seen this industry from a highly regulated one to a hodgepodge mess where just anyone can get a truck and become a carrier to make the big bucks.

Drivers are more isolated than ever and they will become more isolated because of the way this is all going, now 18 year olds are going to get CDLs and become drivers - no professionalism there, just fill the seats with people who are known to have more accidents than any other demographic. Wow!!

If you and others like you want to make a difference, learn why we need to be considered part of a skill trade, fight to get a hard license to get and become more political, not more partisan but poltical with a common cause and common goal.

The FMCSA is throwing all of you a bone, they are acting like there is a need to get something changed with the crying through the ATA, but really what would help, more confusing regulations about the HOS, or a return to what actually worked before and allowed drivers to make decisions based on the needs of safety for them at that moment.
