Hello all. Well I made the leap. I have been wanting to do this for years now. so while im in NC visiting my dad I decided to go to school. I choosed Future Truckers Of America in Asheboro, NC.

Week 1. Monday morning. so after going up and down 64 I finally located the school. Its housed in what appears to be a old village in motel/ car shop. The building itself can def use upgrades. For those of you who have been here, you should know about the barking dog in the parking lot(lol) The yard itself stays dusty. The class for the week started of with 17, ended with 16 due to a family emergency. Mostly driver solutions students(PAM - USA), like 2 paid(cash, Check, Loan, etc) and a couple Central Refrigerated student. Actually the central students stand to make off better due to the fact after their 52 week contract they would had only paid back 1200.00

Day one apps, drugtest, physicals. Pat(owners wife) spoke a lil while, then in comes Randy(owner). One of the coolest old mans ever. If he ever go for governor I will vote(lol).

The whole week consisted of 1980 era vcr tapes, lot lizard traing(lol), randys lectures and 10 min smoke breaks on the hour every hour.

This school is really great if you need a refresher. Randy teaches in the way, as if you already know. It was some confusing, well mostly 1 student. If he gets license I will stop driving period.

Randy really know his stuff, he will teach you, but you really got to pay attention to him. Your best bet is to study the manual and any other sheets you have. Oh well got my permit.

To those of you coming here and not through Driver Solutions and you plan on staying at the school dorms(like 240.00 4 weeks), be prepared. The guys invited me up. So shower good before you leave, be prepared for sink wash ups, stinky roommate(up to 3 to a room). Bring lysol for the mattresses.
