quick question, Does swift require new hires to double clutch? I only ask because I never learned how. First time in a truck the guy I was with asked me what the heck I was doing using the clutch. Exact words"float them gears boy" so now thats all I know how to do. That was about 7-8 years ago. Last time I tried to double clutch, about 2 years ago, all I could manage do was grind the snot out of them. Went back to floating. Been told its not hard, just never been able to the hang of it. Guess I have never had someone show me how to do it either.

Zab, I also thought double clutching was hard. Upshifting is just a matter of a 1-2 tempo, downshifting is a matter of knowing speed:gear ratio. In my cdl schooling we learned on a 10 speed and I know the ratio for that. My worries is Swift has 8 and 9 speeds and I have to learn the ratio for them. I start next week, I can't wait to see how this goes. -

Your shifting and clutching at the same time. Nothing liek a car........when you come off the fuel, clutch and shift into neu. then clutch and shift into next gear. look it up on youtube. dont put too much thinking into it, its all about timing and rythm, ... -
Here's a good tempo for ya.. remember the adams family tune. Dun.a.dunt..dun.dun well kinda hum that in ur mind and do the double clutch on the dun..dun. helped me when learning. I
float them now. I really think swift only wants ya to double clutch on their road teat after that
who cares lol -

I wanna sign on but I got gaps in employment. Will that make a difference?

I have I gaps in employment as well. I drove for an orange tucking company for 6 months in 06. I gave up my Class A in 2008 and now am looking to go back to driving.
My gaps do not really matter they are willing to take me.
One question. Is Swift doing the hair follicle test?
The medicine they give me for tension headaches is cut with a slight amount of barbiturates. It does not really affect me all that much it just makes the pain go away. I do not take it if I have to drive Its just every now and then. But I know it will show up. I stoped taking it last week and do not plan on taking it untill i find out more. -
Curious how you feel about Swift now...
