Just got out of the hospital. Caught something nasty there at the fj in boise. I got 2 slices of pizza. hours later, i started to feel dizzy and nausea. I finally vommited all over the place (not in the cab). Fever up to 102, dizzy, nausea persisted. Doctor said it was food poison.

Beware of pilot flying j food there fellas. With all these lawsuits by our companies, they're going to want revenge.:puke::biggrin_25516:

I'm glad you're ok, Bud! Food poisoning sucks bad and especially if you're in a truck when it happens! The 2 times I had it were both from having meat from Walmart. I was lucky the first time to be in town dropping off a load and I was able to finish the load and then go home. The other I was off duty and 3 hours away at a friends house for a BBQ(walmart burgers) and that 3 hour drive up to 12 hours to get back home.

I had to stop eating at the Pilot/Flyng J! I love Pizza! But every single time I have theirs, I get sick! It is soooo greasy and it's never cooked all the way either. I have had several times where the Meat was cold on it and the dough was chewy. They only food I ever get are the hot dogs and since they got rid of the Bratwursts, I don't even get those anymore. Everytime I go into any of the 3 around me, they get more and more filthy. @ of them usually don't even have any food except for whats in the hot window. The old Flying J on highway 201 and 900 west in SLC used to have a hole in the restaurant called ,"Teds" in it and it was the best! Then it became ,"County Pride" and it was horrible! Now it's a Dennys,,,,,,,how in the heck do you ruin a Dennys?! But they did!

Whatever the hell PFJ is selling is certainly not pizza. Take this from an Italian from the northeast. That's not pizza. Not even close. And it sits. And sits. And sits. That's not how you serve pizza. Also, they don't know how to bake it right in the first place. First hint? It's truckstop "pizza". Second hint? The crust is soft. Crust should never be soft, especially the bottom of the slice. It should have a crunch to it. That's how you know it's been baked properly. Lastly, the "meat" and "cheeses" are of a very low grade. There's more meat on a vegetarian burger than on the PFJ "mega meat" " pizza". That entire hot deli is a health hazard. None of it is healthy, none of it is fresh either. Stop eating from it!!!! You're actually better off eating from McD's than out of that deli. It's garbage, it does make you sick and it doesn't even taste good.

Two times food poisoning, both from Flying J (pre merger). Broadway Flying J in Spokane, I was sick for two days, not right for a week. Second time, from Pecos TX, ended up in Sweetwater for the weekend ****53**** steps from the ladies room. Never ate in their restaurants again. The truck is the last place you want to be sick, but food poisoning is exceptionally bad...

Being travel centers they work on the logic they'll never see you again. Sell them some cardboard to eat for an astronomical price and we can make our stockholders happy. Who cares if they don't like it, our clientele constantly changes. It looks like pizza, lol.

That has to be the worst pizza if you want to call it that. I don't know what to say about the sauce other than Chef-boyrdee makes tastier crap. Then the cheese is imitation, freeze dried, reconstituted, preserved and rubberized camel milk that melts. I'd rather eat a frozen pizza and get a whole one for the price of a slice there. Then the ones with Chinese food which I normally like are always dried out like their deli items which have been sitting there for hours. The manager wouldn't eat that stuff but they'll sure sell it.

The same mentality carries over to their restaurants who's cooks only experience has been in prison.

Eating poorly on the road and all the cases of food poisoning are one of the secret downsides of the job.

I can remember one time getting badly sick after eating at a truckstop and called the manager. He offered me a free meal. I told him what makes you think I want to go through that again? :)

    They truly don't care.

Hey PT, I had PFJ pizza yesterday. I asked the girl for 2 slices, one regular, one pepperoni. She comes back and says "I gave you the other regular slice as well only because its been there awhile." :biggrin_2556: :biggrin_25521:Uhm...............thanks? Made my decision that I would give that slice to the homeless guy a block from the DC. Luckily I didn't get sick from the other two, had a bottle of cherry Dr. Pepper to keep things in check!:biggrin_2559:
