I've already got a pickup scheduled in Indianapolis this morning. It's my load home, and brother, I gotta get home, lol!
I feel a lot better now, finally have been able to down fluids and I actually had to pee this morning so I think my system is returning to normal.
I think all the puking helped save my ### because I don't think anything really got passed my stomach.
Food poisoning when otr is not fun.

PackRat, sorry to hear that but thank you for the heads up. Make sure you call the health department on these guys.
We were there just yesterday at the Pilot.
Wife got food poisoning at the Wendys that's inside the Pilot in Dunningan, CA. I called Wendy's corporate, Pilot corporate & the local health department. -
I once got food poisoning in Mexico......from McDonald's!
Never know where it will happen.
Feeling about 75% better. Still a little achy but otherwise ok.
Put as my Facebook update "Booted in Safe Mode" lol. -
glad you're feeling better

Saw this string and had to say i just got over a stomach bug myself. There is nothing worse than being a thousand miles away from home and alone with the heaving dry pukes and diarrhea...nothing!

Years ago I stopped at Breezewood and had a ham sandwich. 2 hours later I was puking my guts out on the side of the road near Pittsburgh. Sick for about 24-30 hours, both ends if you know what I mean. I became very careful about what I eat on the road after that incident. I feel for you buddy, hope it's better soon. Terrible feeling

I will never forget the summer of 1968 when I got food poisoning at the Phillip Carey roofing company cafeteria in Lockland, Ohio. The ham and au gratin potatoes were warm, not hot. I should have stopped eating immediately. About an hour later, I puked while tarping my load. I thought that would be the end of it, but I had to stop behind the state scale which was closed. I was sick there until the next day when I was able to drive to a rest area and use the telephone. I was weak for three days. I'm not sure my employer believed my reason for not delivering the load on time.

I have experienced this twice out on the road, it is not fun at all. One at a Dominos, they delivered to the truck, so I ate then got unloaded about 15 minutes later, so I started to roll, about 10 more miles up the highway the feeling hit me like a freight train, I pulled over and delt with my business on the side of the road, there was nothing around to pull over at. Not fun at all. Still felt crappy the next morning.

I didn't get food poisoning while out on the road, but I did get one hell of a head cold!!
Felt it coming on one morning(after staying at home that night) and took some cold meds to help prevent it coming on in full force. Went to bunk that night and felt decent, woke up the next morning and it felt like I'd gotten run over by my truck and then a bus at the same time!! Took me probably three hours to get out of the bunk and dressed. Walked around the truck 3-4 times getting some COLD fresh air(Canada, EH) and kind of woke me up and got driving after a PTI. That whole day was very hard on me(LTL Flatbed load too). Got it done, came home that night and right to bed I went! -
That is so weird, I recently read this topic and just got food poisoning. I had to pull over and go to the ER. No way I can drive, I am sitting until HR can say that I can drive again but I am feeling a lot better.
TruckDuo Thanks this.
