For how a shop can hold your truck for repair legally?

It’s unfortunate what your going through but it’s part of the business on being an owner operator, Welcome to our world. With that being said, that’s why its always said to have plenty of reserved funds so you don’t find yourself like in a situation your in. Not being sarcastic. Just the truth.

 

It doesn't matter what make you go with. They are all having problems sourcing good parts. Nothing wrong with Volvo, it's the parts! My 15 Volvo has been rock solid. My dealer has told me to run it for as long as I can because the new ones are so much trouble. Talk to anyone with a new truck from Pete, KW, INTL or FL and they'll tell you about the same.

 

I’ve have been going through a few parts houses looking for sensors that have needed replacing. So this statement must be true.

 

Everything is on backorder.

Pretty much.

And it's going to get worse.

 

Parts produced in the mighty USA...I think we'll see pigs fly before that happens.

Covid has shown the world how dependent it is on China, yet, no one has made any major steps to change that.

 

Been looking at buying a quantity of containers for a customer. Since the first of the year quotes I've gotten are up about 5-7%, but I expect they'll jump quite a bit soon as inventories are really low.

 

This is why, when we had our small fleet, they were all rentals; so that when we had truck troubles, we didn't have truck troubles.

 

My dealer does this until the bills paid , had to many drive offs.
