I’m a 2nd generation residential window washer. Only thing we ever used in the bucket is Dawn dish soap, nowadays any cheap lemon soap will do like a giant bottle for a dollar from a dollar tree.

Used to have this 90 year old lady that I washed every spring inside and out who Smoked like a Overfueled diesel.

My dad had started washing her windows back when she was 60 and her cigar smoking husband was still alive .

She lived in the same house for 50 years and let me tell you if you didn’t see it you wouldn’t believe it.

After just one season the windows were so glazed over from the nicotine you could barely see through them .

It took half and half soapy water and Ammonia to cut the nicotine the first wash The water would look like brown oil within washing a few windows.

Dump out water and start fresh and wash them a second time.

Everything in the house was sticky. The curtains in the house were like Flypaper.

You had to shower and wash your clothes separately after working in the house and clean the inside of your vehicle or you smelled like a ashtray .

Amazing those ciggy butts don’t kill people sooner .
