For team driving does this offer seem kind of low?

    Is that doubles?

Honestly right now it's probably a decent idea to just secure yourself a job, if you don't have one. If you are really going to be pulling in 1,200-1,700 a week then I would lock that deal in for the time being and be grateful to have it.

You might be able to find better, but also you might not. There's a lot of uncertainty right now, and going forward for the rest of the year.

If you think you can happily team, or at least tolerate it, then my vote is you give it a shot. If you are a new or fairly new driver then that's not too bad pay. Some guys will tell you it's not worth it, that's coming from their perspective, and from their perspective they are not wrong.

If you have never team driven before I would count on about 3 months to get totally used to sleeping in a moving truck. Until that happens, expect to be tired a lot. There's a lot of things that can wake you up. If you fall asleep when the truck is moving, then you are going to probably wake up when the truck stops. Also every time they decide to use their air horn, or jerk the truck for some reason.. stuff like that.

Eventually, you just sleep through all of it.

You have a team driver lined up already or you gonna have to find a random?

I am looking at both Solo and Team. I could sure use the money of Team but man that sounds pretty rough, like 24x7 on the road, trying to sleep, etc.

I couldn't imagine teaming if it wasn't with my wife dude. Straight up, your life is in someone else's hands while your sleeping. Not to mention if they have bad habits. I'm a huge team driving advocate. But only if it's with someone that you know. Friend, family, spouse etc. Relying on a random is rough dude. The money is nice, don't get me wrong but you gotta ask yourself, is it worth having to be in a truck with someone all day who may not have the same driving habits (reckless) , or cleanliness, or personal views. It can get rough. For sure check into solo man, and if you think you can handle the cons that come with teaming. Not to say you will get a bad team mate. But cards aren't usually in your favor.

I trained a guy that was kind of sluggish, and messy. He was a chubby kid, always ordering Grubhub, and he had a habit of leaving used floss toothpicks all over the truck... like all over. He had another issue of not being able to drive at night, even though he thought he could do so easily.

Well that kid moved on and ended up on another guy's truck, an older more hard-headed guy. Well they started having problems. Like the guy I trained would not lock his door when leaving, or taking his keys with him. Over and over, he just refused to teach himself that habit.

So one day it reached a boiling point and that kid got in the truck after an altercation about not locking his door for the 100th time, the older guy stuffed his head in-between his legs and went to down on the side of his body. *wham wham* He got his arse folded up and had a number played on his kidney.

That stuff happens. Especially if you are a hard-headed aggressive type. As far as I know both of those guys are still driving there. My suspicion is that the kid I trained is only hanging on to the job barely. lol

Have you started driving yet?. Most OTR companies will put a new driver with a trainer for days/weeks and essentially you will be running as a team operation. I did it for about 4 weeks and at first it was hell. I am a very light sleeper so I as getting 2 or 3 hours broken sleep when the truck was moving. After a couple weeks I was able to sleep longer, but that was just out of pure exhaustion. Then you have the issue of dealing with living someone 24/7. First trainer I had was clean, no real disgusting habits, but used to snap at me for stupid stuff. I suspect that was more to do with him being the trainer/being my "superior". Second trainer was much cooler, pretty decent guy, but man was he messy, didn't shower often and would leave trash on floor of the truck.

If you have no clue who you will be teaming with (you didn't mention whether you even knew your teammate) then you might want to reconsider unless you are broke and have no other option.
