    1. In the CDL manual, it states that I must mention the Power Steering Unit, do they mean the Power Steering Pump (not the Power Steering Reservoir)? I can't seem to find it, it's very deep so where can I find it? Can I just lie and point anywhere and tell the tester they can't see the Power Steering Pump because it's hidden.
    2. Do all vehicles have a Power Steering Pump? If this is "no", my truck only has the power steering reservoir so it's not gear or belt-driven, but will I lose points for not mentioning it's not belt driven?

as far as i know, all trucks, cars, mini vans, SUV's have a power steering pump. they either run off a fan belt, serpentine belt, or could be gear driven. do your best to look for the high pressure hoses, then try to find where they go, and mention it to the examiner.

again, you are over thinking this.

    good luck, i'm out.

See it, name it. You'll cover everything.

    Use words like,

    Check condition of
    Check operation
    Securely attached
    No cracks
    No leaks
    Good condition
    Operating properly

    lester Thanks this.
