Starting this journey on Monday at Roehl RDTC and I hope that I year from now I can say I'm enjoying it but like onthefence said earlier....I too have been unemployed for all but 60 days of this year and with no jobs (other than $8/hr) available here in central Ohio I am hoping that trucking will pay off. I too hate leaving the wife and kids here at home but after being in the Navy 16 years ago I am no stranger to leaving for longer periods of time than this will be.
For those who regret going into trucking...

None of my business, but.... is there any chance you can go back to the Navy and knock out that last four years? You'll be MUCH better for it if you decide to go trucking later on. -
the cubicle moves and the scenery is constantly changing
Chances are your cubicle will not end up in Hunts Point or Harlem , and some of that scenery is SCARY at times.lupe Thanks this. -
Hey Jarhed....I take all input BUT I was in the Navy 16 years ago for 4 years. Now too old to go back in. But it was a good thought.

Oh, I see. So Navy doesn't do "constructive age"? I was out of the Marine Corps for 16 years and managed to get back in back in 2006. Got out again last Jan though (EVERYthing changed for the worse, IMO). My bad though, I thought you had 16 years in.
Couldn't let all those young'ins have all the fun, ya know.
