that is true but i have heard that some states allow for more time behind the wheel during certain times of the year.an example is during crop time or other.cattle hauling does have different standards as in the time the cows are allowed to stand w/o a break but they (cow haulers)may have a little more time.

i would like to hear from a bullhauler on this one.

Line 3 can be edited to a extent.

    Computer malfunctions
Forgetting to log out and someone else driving.

And here's the best part about the mandatory break. Drivers no longer have a excuse to not shower

Nope, line 3 cannot be edited by you. It can be edited by a companies log auditor, but not in the truck. Good luck getting a shower at a TS in under 30 minutes.

That is nothing that a phone call to the logs dept cant fix. Also, you can edit your logs before you approve them. The only line you cannot edit is line 3.[/QUOTE]

It took about 5 calls to logs to get the problem fixed. The guy that worked nights would not change them for me.E-log and log dept.was one of the reasons I left Werner. Werner e-logs will not let you edit them w/out sending a message to logs dept.

no problem.you drink the koolaid of elogs and i do not.elogs are basically more intervention by the gov't AND the do goody but adversely effect groups such as MADD,ATA,MATT,etc. truckers have always been able to run well and legal enough without being electronically monitored.

when they are mandated,if they are,i will thank you now for helping all the trucks get them installed using your tax dollar whether collected thru fuel taxes, straight out taxes.etc. it will boil down to a strong arm tactic to get them in all trucks while putting many law abidding, tax paying, job providing smaller outfits out of business.

mandates by the gov't are not always in the best interest of those being mandated upon.simply more growth of big brother.i presume you approve of a larger gov't.

Even with a elog, a log is not a legal document until you sign it. With a elog, you sign it by approving it. A legal document cannot be changed by the driver. If you caught the problerm before you approved it, you should have been able to edit it (unless it was line 3).

Some can, yes. Not every trucker has the "drive it like you stole it" mentality.

It had put me on line 3 even though I had not moved and logs would not allow me to change it. On the ime I was put on line 4 after going off duty they said messages don't back up request.

ummm the anit ELOGers are against being told how to do there job,. they are against running tired. they are against rolling there trucks over.
they are against having to sleep at shippers or being 5 minutes shy. they are against being told where to park. when to drive, when to sleep. when to go home.

it's not about running illegal. like you all box lovers seem to think. it's about safety. that none of you box lovers have.

you don't see US driving out trucks upside on the wrong side of the freeway. or taking offramps too fast because we were too tired to pay attention to the signs. you won't see us slamming into cars becuase we were too tired to pay attention to brake lights.

it's not about running legal or illegal. it's about safety. we drive. and when we get tired. we sleep. we're not woken up. and we're not bossed around.

as much as all you box lovers would like to think yours is the better world. it really isn't.

so stop shoving it down our throats that you all the better safer drivers. cuz your not. and you most certainly don't make more money or drive more miles.
