produce from salinas or yuma has a certain amount of time to get to hunts point; if i'm not mistaken it's like 3-4 day for transit time. u can't do that running solo with e logs.

 

Nobody ever dictated that is has to go on a solo driver.

as I said, things change, and many produce runs are now done by teams. I know many cuss the sikhs, that run teams on produce, but that is the change that has come to produce.

I run produce loads from salinas to the midwest as a solo driver... loads going to the east coast are team loads.

 

i've been hauling produce for 21 yrs, produce going east will go on teams if the load is paying for a team; most produce going that way won't pay for a team

You're wasting your time anyway, the elog cheerleaders know it all, probably even went to one of them fancy truck drivin schools too, they teach you everything there is to know about trucking there you know...

 

Like I said I have started running legal.. Most of these companies don't want to pay enough anymore to counter balance the tickets or the stress.. In theory you can run more miles in 11 hours on elogs than you can legally on paper. and yes it is correct... but having said that how often do you get to run 70 mph for 11 hours? What happens when they implement this "new" hos rules.. I believe there is a rule you have to take 1, 30 minute break after 5 hours.. Why not just go back to the old hos and put a 24 hour reset in.. I have elogs now ran paper for 16 years and hated the current hos from day one.. I drive tired all the time under both.. back on the 1930's rules I was never tired and ran 5000 miles a week solo.. When I got tired I stopped and slept, yeah it might have been for 3 hours at a time but I was safer then and yeah it wasn't legal I know that... When Parents Against Tired Truckers is always spouting safety maybe they need to talk to a trucker... You can't regulate someones sleep patterns..
