The companies I have worked for wouldn't hand out the high dollar, time sensitive loads to just anyone.
Once you proved you could get loads delivered safely and on time no matter what, you could make some serious money.
I have had agents call me and tell me to name my price on loads that needed to be there now. -
I'm starting to tire of you paper log people with your condescending attitudes. We're all a bunch of mindless, nut-less chimps because we embrace technology and actually run legal.
Yes, with eLogs, once you start the clock, you've got 11/14 to get it done legally. Once you start the clock on paper, you have the same amount of time. You just have the latitude to cheat ... and cheat you do.
That is a load of crap.
Get it done now. If you ever kill somebody doing it, it's not my problem. Well, unless you run me off the road. -
I did paper for 41 yrs and I didnt kill anyone or even come close. Does that make me a bad person? If I had to run elogs there were some great paying loads that I would have lost money on. Elogs were originaly ment for companys with DOT problems on ratings now they are being shoved up everyones rear. Soon the government will say trucks can only do 55 then the moaning will really start if that ever happens.
freedhardwoods, NavigatorWife and Cowmobile Thank this. -
People who say they make more money on paper are admitting they are running illegal.
The hours of service is the same on Elogs as on paper... -

Legal has nothing to do with safety. A driver can legally drive 11 hours per day for 6 days and play games all night between shifts. Nobody in their right mind would say that's safe.
In 32 years of driving I have never been able to drive all night without sleep, yet I still manage to be one of the drivers they call when a load has to be there.
To truly be a safe driver, you have to sleep when you need it.Last edited: Apr 24, 2013

The only thing I hate about elogs is the fact you will lose hours driving if you know there is the possibility of not finding any parking further down the road in an hour and you are in a place that has available parking now. It's only going to get worse in the future.
RickG Thanks this.
