Hello everyone,
Here looking for advice and info. I have 2 felonies attempted arson 3rd and attempted burglary 2nd in 2000. Finished my parole in 2005. Are there any companies that will hire me. Do you think Greyhound will hire me? Just inquiring. Thanks in advance for all info and advice. -
Sure they will hire you. It's been over ten years ago since your convictions or felony. -
Anyone ever run across this? A guy applies to do contract work as an independent. Meets the office manager, fills out forms for a driver and a helper. Manager asks if he Owns or Rents a truck, He tells him he's renting. Manager doesn't seem to mind. Two weeks goes by and the Manager calls him and asks if he's ready to roll. He says sure. Goes to the warehouse and they set up a DOT Physical and drug screen. Guy passes all. The guy waits 4 days for a truck to become available and the Manager is calling him everyday to come in and start working. Two days before Christmas the Manager calls and says come in to complete some paperwork, go over contract and whatnot, he says you don't need your truck today. The Manager calls back and says change of plans, bring the truck because another operator has backed out and we need you on the road today. The guy goes to the warehouse, gets the rundown on the process, is given truck log and safety sheets, the truck is gone over by management, and they give the guy and his helper uniforms.
Now the problem. The manager comes back and tells him he can't go on the road because the main out of state office hasn't completed all the paperwork on their end. He tells them sorry and tells them he'll call him on Monday after Christmas and all should be good. Monday rolls around and they call telling him the paperwork still isn't completed. Now Wednesday rolls around and they call and say he can't drive due to a 16 year old OUI. (absurd in my opinion)
So the driver has been sitting on a rental for almost a week waiting on these guys when they said everything was all set and to get and bring the truck for work.
The guy is now trying to get the money for the rental out of these guys based on them telling him to get a truck and report to work. The "Company" is balking and doesn't want to pay.
Who is right? Do you think the refund should be given or not? -
If its not in writing then your out the $. If you went to court hear say wont hold up.

Hello truckers I have two questions:
1. I worked for US Xpress for about four months and deeply regret it and would like to get back with them or another company in the summer. Do I have to go for training again or will they hire me back. I got my cdl back in late Nov. 2010 and worked for them from Dec.2010-Apr.2011
2. The company I working for now is a local company and they use straight trucks and I have worked for them for 7 months. I received a ticket for speeding and it was my first offense; and it's my first one. I asked the officer if any points were going to added and he said no. So next week I am going to call the number he gave me to disscuss about the ticket. My main concern is will this hurt my csa and prevent me from getting into the trucking industry or what? -
Hey Guys, I do work for Foley Carrrier Service one of the largest compliance companys in the country so any compliance questions please feel free to ask.

So I got my first written violation in almost a decade earlier this week. It was a ticket for having window tint on my personal vehicle too dark per county (and I suspect state) standards. Cop who issued the ticket said with proper documentation (before and after pictures, receipt of service to remove the tint), I could probably get the ticket dismissed if I attend the summons to traffic court at the date/time listed on the ticket. I plan on doing that. However, assuming I get unlucky and don't have the ticket dismissed, is this something that companies will be concerned about when I apply? It's not as if I was involved in an accident, speeding, or any sort of reckless driving.
