My understanding is that a DUI stays on your record forever. It is treated as a criminal charge. The company said they do not give you the reason why only that I do not qualify.

according to what i read also...since i was a taxi driver for many years....it's not so much the DWI etc but the label as a insurance risk..my gf was in insurance for 19 years big time problems....she has told me lots of bad stories of kids under 21 paying something close to 2,000 a month to be insured....
-
I also drove non commercial trucks....and the first thing most ask is about DWI.....I had to fire a good friend of mine for that.....mind you commercial insurance for a cab company is somewhere around 40,000 a month. If your drivers don't have accidents everyday, trust me they do....

I had a possession of marijuana ticket that I was charged with in 2004. I was required to complete probation, but this was not finished until fall of 2007. Does anyone have any ideas on what companies would hire me? It has been seven years since my charge and four since I completed my probation. I have been sober since then and am hoping enough time has elapsed for me to finally get into a trucking career. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone,
I was strongly considering getting into the trucking biz... still am, however I remembered a certain incident while traveling to N.C. from N.Y. that may be of trouble to me.... I was driving extremely fast in Virginia (young and stupid) and got pulled over for doing 91 in a 55, which in Virginia is apparently reckless driving and is a serious offense with possible jail time. Anyways, this was 9 years ago.. I received a few things in the mail within the year or two it happened but nothing since, and it hasn't affected my license in N.Y.
I guess what I'd like to know, is would this affect my ability to get a CDL, and if i did get it, would I still have to avoid Virginia, and would Virginia be the only state I have to stay out of or do they "collaborate" with other states as far as tickets go? I really just kinda forgot about this whole incident over the years and have not received anything about it in years, pretty much since it happened. I know they used to just let tickets go after so long in some states but from what i hear they aren't so lenient these days... Anyone have a similar situation? -
I am on two years probation for a non drug-, alcohol-, violence-, or sex-related misdemeanor. I have one speeding ticket from June 2006. Is there any company that will give me a ride?

I've been thinking about trying to get on with central, But I am worried I won't get accepted because I was arrested for driving while suspended with no proof of insurance back in 2009. That was in Kansas, I live in Texas now with a valid drivers license since 6/2010 no tickets at all since 2009, a steady work history, and plenty of good references. If Central will not hire me are their any starter companies that might?

I have a DUI conviction from 2/18/2008. I was told by Alliance that if I went to their school and got my CDL that I could get a job since its been 3 yrs however every company big or small I have checked is 5 yrs. Does anyone know of a company that hires within 3 yrs before I waste my money?

I have a question. I am under suspension right now because of an insurance issue and not driving( I also have a OASbecause ididn't even know i was under sus[ension. which was basically thrown out $50 and behave myself for 6 months). will this affect my ability to get hired even by the "bottom" feeders??.
