Wait a minute...if this isn't what you want to be doing, why are you then?

What is it you would rather be doing, and why aren't you?

Keep in mind, maybe some of us are proud of what we do. We are a vital link in the economy, and most of us step up to the plate every day despite the negative images and opinions we are assaulted with from the general public.

He might enjoy it more if he wasn't running his dick in the dirt.

I don't run for miles........ I try to run the least amount of miles as possible for the most amount of money. Running 600 miles a day is not good for anyone to do on a consistent basis. (health wise speaking)

I wasted 9 years in American prison and 3 years in Colombian prison. I'm actually university educated. I just really used to like the smell of cocaine. I'm really just now getting back on my feet.

I dont necessarily think theres anything wrong with running those miles.....but on a consistent basis...its a quick way to get worn out especially for new drivers... Way to get back on your feet though.....

So let's assume you get paid for each mile driven, and get 50 cpm. You log 11 hours of on duty and average 650 miles a day. Thats $30/hr, pretty darn good.

Now at my company I get paid an extra 15 cpm for load under 200 miles. So I can do 3 short loads, log 9 hours on duty, run 12 off the 14 and make the same that you do running to the end of your clock. Last Friday I worked a total of 5 hours (7 to noon), tan three loads, drove a total of 100 miles and made $120. Had I hussled I probably could have gotten done in under 4 hours, logged less than 3 on duty. While I got loaded and unloaded I cleaned the truck, and got things ready for the next week. So depending on how you look at it I made $24-40 per hour.

Even as a company driver being paid cpm, more miles does not necessarily mean more pay. Shorthaul, stop off, detention, hazmat, "this customer is a flaming pain in the ### so here's more money for dealing with them" pay can add up.

Adjusting for pay raises the highest grossing week I ever had I drove from Green Bay to Chicago and back all week long, 3,000 short haul miles with a bucket load of accessory pay. Work smart, not hard.
