You also have a personel (sic) right not to work there. Sounds like they might be trying to clean up the ranks.
-
They REQUIRE you to drive a truck that is governed out. They REQUIRE you to take whatever load they tell you. They REQUIRE you to perform your job as they tell you.Now they are REQUIRING you to get your hazmat. If you don't want it quit.Trust me they won't miss you for a second. This is a $$$ driven industry.Someone will fill your position immediately. You go ahead and stand up and fight the good fight it means nothing to these large carriers. If you can go anywhere you want then you might as well go.
Chinatown, HauntedSchizo19 and mje Thank this. -
A lot of hazmat freight just hit the market, and they need a bigger pool of qualified drivers. They're just callin the slackers on a broken condition of employment. Not to mention providing some credit to offset his cost... no one else got that if they did it at orientation.

I do not comprehend that statement. His personal right is to move on. No one is holding him hostage and forcing him. There are planes and ships that leave here everyday. If one does not like what the "Master" says, they are FREE to leave and go to the land of a new "Master".
Does anyone even know why HAZMAT has become the regulatory issue that it is? HMMM? Does 9/11/2001 ring a bell???? -

If this is leaning toward the thinking that I have some alliance to Prime...nothing further from the truth. Just been around the block a few times and know how the trucking business goes on both side of the fence.
Makes no difference to me. I get amused reading the nonsense. -
It's a reference to the Harry Potter series of books (I know, evil stuff right? witchcraft and all that; laws yes witchcraft and technology the devils work!) where house elves are slaves to their masters until given a sock, which sets them free.
I think he was agreeing with you, and sarcastically jabbing at the OP for insinuating that he's forced to do anything. It would be rather funny if Prime gave you a pair of socks when they canned you, though.dogchimp Thanks this. -
From the looks and sounds of all this, it seems as though Prime leaning towards running the company like the military. Eventually, Prime will REQUIRE all drivers to be totally healthy and physically fit in every shape, manner, and form whatsoever.
Dollars to donuts, people will be lined up to work for Prime, as they are lined up to get into the military.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
