if you did a 34 tho, say over the weekend, would you still have to keep the 7 days prior logs? or can you just reset your hours on your log sheet?

Getting a reset doesn't change the law on how many logs you must keep, when ever being DOT'd and they ask for logs, you must show then the day your on a the 7 prior, having a 34 in the middle doesn't change that, hope this helps

I usually just tell them I ain't got one when they ask for my log book. That usually is met by a confused look, and I have to explain several times about the 100 air-mile radius exception to the RODS requirements. That is usually accompanied by utter disbelief by the officer, who despite not knowing what he'd be looking at if I DID hand him a log book, was under the impression that ALL CMV's had to have log books. A 30-60 minute phone call between the occifer and his DOT guy usually ensues, where the DOT guy explains the same dern thing I've been trying to tell him...again...before the officer comes out and asks if I'm SURE I don't have a log book and lets me go when I assure him I do not.

...although I have considered carrying some of my old Forestry textbooks in the truck with me so I can ask 'em "Which log book ya wanna see?" Of course that'll get their attention...so that's when I'd start pulling 'em out. "...this one'll tell you how to grow the logs...this one'll teach you how to measure the logs....this one here can help you identify the logs....":biggrin_25523:

I thought they took away the driving part ...
You mean we still have to drive ???

I thought we had to get 34 hours between each load and a truck that drove itself and some one to back it up for us and a big screen TV to play video games on and we got to be home every night .
Now I am hearing that trucking is like WORK !!!!
    OMG whats next ???

Will I actually have to think for myself and be all responsible and act like a grown up .

Yep, the new mentality of new zero experience drivers, I want the top pay, the nicest trucks, the best home time, I want to put little to no effort into this job, who will hire me, that meets all these requirements?
