It is actually a violation of the regs (with CSA points attached) to schedule a run which necessitates speeding in order to accomplish on time. Don't have time to look up the exact # now, but it is in the "unsafe driving" basic.

That's okay. If he'd rather leave than learn, we can't do anything for him. Good bye and good luck.

The rule is... if you're under a hot load and you haven't run 34 consecutive hours in the last 8 days you may run 34 consecutive hours to make on time delivery, because your company (or yourself) took a load you couldn't possibly deliver on time.

It's not a rule! OTR drivers work on an 8 day work week, your log hours consist of the day you're on and the 7 prior, once you hit that 70 hour mark, in short you have no hours to work, in order to get a full 70 again, you must be off duty for 34 hours, this will reset your logged hours to zero, showing you have a full 70, but you do not have to do this, you can work off you recap, say by the end of today, 1/20/15, you have logged 70 hours, what ever hours you had on 1/13/15 you will get back at midnight, if you logged 7 hrs and 15 min, then that's what you would have available for 1/21/15

You could have still had a cookie break by running an 8/2 split. Got to have my cookies.
