This is what I note above. The independents MUST NOT give the big players what they want. They must stick it out, no matter, lest the big players win, and small guy loses.

I know owner ops rather use paper and not be controlled by the government I get that but most the drivers are company drivers and fmcsa could care less what owner ops say or think.Soon elogs will be fully implemented and you'll have to switch over. Its all about greed revenue corporate job creation and nothing more.

Exactly... As a driver, you gonna have to be firm and grow some big ones. Especially, now the changing of HRS of service rules. Everyone in this business puts the End all be All on the Drivers... The Drivers need to learn to pass on others mishaps from wrong addresses, late loadings and unloadings... If im at a shipper and you have eaten up my clock, ill be the biggest as and will sit at your dock. better not have anyone that needs it.
The main thing is.... Look out for Number one UNO.... No one else will

    Oh, really?

Here is how you fix that problem. While sitting at the shipper, you log off duty. Say if you completely blew up your 14 for the day and have zero time left technically speaking on your clock. You just say you really left earlier then you did going 15miles down the road to a T stop.

Option B. If I was sleeping most of my day on my unload and reload I would simply say I did both a load/reload within 2 hours and then show the rest as me being parked taking a full 10hour break. By that time technically, you could leave in 30 minutes and have a full 14hour work day.

    Peace out! Lmao!

Besides, when that little qualcom unit shows you are in sleeper birth, how does it know you are actually sleeping? Their have been times I could never fall asleep what so ever and could keep driving for the day. Yet, I had to lay there all night long twiddling my thumbs and then be up 21hours then pull another full fledged 14 hour day.

So before you say anything about running illegal. What ever. I MAY BE RUNNING ILLEGAL technically speaking in that sense, how ever I AM BEING SAFER!

Rules are meant to be broken and I will say this. It does not matter how they change the HOS rules, it will always be the same. An for the government to force something down your throat, especially if its your own business. It's against my rights and free will.

So put me in office. I am 3rd cousin to Washington.

    Cheers!

As a flatbedder I agree with what you say about flatbed customers.

However, it does not exclude us from long wait times to load/unload. I had to wait 6 hours for a crane to come onsite this past week. I am on elogs and I still made it to the ts before being out of hours.

I haul os/ow more than I haul legal. Often loads are too large to enter most ts for fuel, food and parking. I drive back roads and us highways and at usually lower speeds due to permit restrictions. I make my appts on time. I don't violate my clock.

It isn't rocket science. It can be done and is done by thousands of drivers everyday.

Exactly. I always figure if so and so can make it work I can too.

I don't understand how so many made it as truck drivers with such a 'can't do' attitude.

Safer than what? Someone on elogs?

If you're ok fudging an hour here and an hour there where do you draw the line? When you're tired? When the job is done?

You have obviously been driving truck for a while. That's great.
What about someone else? A new guy. Or a desperate guy. The type of guy that needs to get this load in this week or his family gets evicted. The guy that will drive 2 days straight to deliver.

Those guys are out there. What happens if that guy slams into you when you're sitting at a standstill in traffic?

The scenario you mentioned is harmless. I have done it myself. I don't begrudge you that. You are probably still safe on the road, but you're not the only truck on the road either.

Thats means the Price of moving Freight goes up.. (Supply and Demand)
IF you happen to be one of these Bad shippers and receivers..... Either you will need to change or people wont move your freight UNLESS they charging you an arm and a leg
