Can we assume that when you applied at Schneider that you didn't tell them that your ticket was a Super Speeder ticket?
I don't know how Schneider words their application but on ours it asks for a listing of all traffic citations regardless of their outcome. It also asks for a description of the offense.
I think that your employment choices in trucking will be very limited now.
Forced to resign for an almost 2 year old super-speeder...

I have a feeling that the OP will benefit from a period of time away from the stress and troubles of failed employment over a ticket or two.
You will find in time things will improve when tickets stop. -
Sure, on your application and in orientation you may have mentioned a speeding ticket. Schneider may have not done their due diligence to discover this wasn't any old speeding ticket at the time they hired you. Now they were motivated to dig deeper into your record becaus of...
...a tow that you didn't need...
...???
Okay, THAT throws up a red flag.
Was that tow you didn't need after an accident? I ask because ANY time two or more vehicles are involved in an accident and at least one of them is a big rig, that raises the stakes. The big rig driver will need to get a drug/alcohol test done within X hours. The company will have to get busy with safety and legal to defend the inevitable lawsuit(s). Once they comb through your record and (OOPS!) find out they hired a driver with a reckless driving charge, they need to cut bait. No way they go to court and admit they hired a driver with a record like that, without immediately firing said driver.
Look, you obviously skated through and got hired by under stating the severity of your speeding ticket. Many a new driver may not know how important those "super speeder" or reckless driving tickets really are when it comes to this industry. The same goes for tickets like not wearing a seat belt or using a cell phone while driving. This industry doesn't take kindly to those guilty pleas (paid fines).
So...what was the circumstances for the tow you didn't need?gentleroger, x1Heavy and 88 Alpha Thank this. -
Anything over 10 I think it is, is frowned on.
I don't know what the threshold is when your employed. But 10 or maybe it's 9 would be the cutpoint. When looking for a new job. Generally speaking. It varies with the company though.
I got a 16 over in NM. And everybody I applied for wanted 5 years for serious speed violations. It was my only ticket. I'm now 3 months past 5 years. -
Good lord I'm tired. This is why it's hard to care about things like this anymore. Every time you turn around there's a guy who isn't being treated right or getting his share.
gentleroger, austinmike and Lepton1 Thank this.
