If you are in the business long enough, you will find that sometimes you have to do what "should never be done." Particularly in LTL.

Wow musta been a crap blocking job, and cheap straps, ive done cars, forklifts, carts of flag poles, motorcycles, hell even had a old fire engine jamed in a van. 2" e track straps, wood wedges, and sometimes a little rope, never had one break loose, but then i did all my own securing for that stuff..

It also helps if you know how to drive, and if you know what you have on board. That is one thing about line haul that seemed to me it could be a bit of a problem. Yeah, you've got your bills there, but the trailers are already sealed, and God only knows how the dock crew loaded you.

You hit it on the head. Turned out the dock worker secured it as best he could, told the supervisor he wasn't sure it was ok to ride. It's fine..... State trooper was behind him, planning on pulling him over for being off a truck route. Thank god there was no one right behind him. Driver was detained, supervisor no longer with company.
