What I know is my sister married a plumber. They go on Caribbean cruises at least 4 times a year. Well when they could anyway. Now they just fly into some place in Mexico or the Caribbeans.

I was a carpenter for years. That 15.00 an hour. Is pretty much trade work industry wide starting pay for an unskilled worker. The faster they learn the faster the pay rate increases.

Law here is they have to pay 60% of Journeyman wage to a first year apprentice. Goes up 10% per year until you're certified.

Yeah it's that way here too if your apprenticeship is through the union. But if you're apprenticeship is just getting hired by a company and being taught it's usually the 15.00 an hour thing.

Apprenticeships are all registered through the government up here. Technically speaking you're not really supposed to work in a trade (professionally) unless you've completed the apprenticeship or are working under a Journeyman. Probably opens you up to a lot of liability if you are not properly trained.

Here if you're just hired by a company and taught you start as a helper to a capable person. The more experience you gain the more you're trusted to perform tasks related to the trade.
