Former teacher of 11 years becomes a plumbing apprentice

Probabaly the newspaper just prints all their online ads in the actual paper .

 

But why pay the phone answerer more than the person standing knee deep in sewage ?

And then wonder why you can’t find good employees ….

 

I don't know where this knee deep in sewage came from, but if the apprentice sticks with it they will end up making considerably more than the receptionist.

Plumbers really earn their money when they have to crawl under houses repairing broken water and sewer lines....... New construction plumbing is a pretty good job if one does not mind dealing with layoffs and occasional relocation to stay employed but the grass is always greener as they say. I bet that high paying phone answering job involves dealing with hard to deal with customers and such. An old timer once told me that if it was any fun you would have to pay them to let you do it.

 

Says so right in the ad .

 

"Wanted moron plumbing apprentice. Will be covered with feces daily. Being infected with God knows what."
15.00 hr.

 

It's a dirty job, but it sure beats getting sidelined for whatever reason and dealing with a McJob. Of course I'd rather gun for electrician or something involving wires.

 

Oh yeah, the only plumbing jobs I've ever done were side jobs like changing out water heaters, replacing toilets, installing garbage disposals, changing out fixtures, fixing leaks etc...never any sewer line work.
