former trainee from CRHELL trying to get back into the industry this summer

I would give central refrigerated a call. I just got done with their salt lake city traoning academy and both of my roommates during my time there were refresher students. I still talk to one of them and he's (as well as me) pleased with the training. I believe if you already have a class A the course at the terminal is way more accelerated.

Check with Prime also; I believe they have a tanker division in your area.

 

You should be good to go. According to your post you have not been off the road that long. Nov 2011 March 2013, 16 months. You should be able to find a company that will higher you with out a refresher.

 

Thats true about maybe not needing a refresher, but I would bet money on all of them saying you will need to go out again with a trainer.

so whats wrong with driving a dump truck, most are at least a 10 wheeler,

 

so if you have not gotten laid in a year or 6 months do you have to take a refresher course or go with a trainer??????????????????

This refresher course stuff is a bunch of bulls---t , i didn't stop driving, i just quit herding a class 8 truck for a few years, funny part of it all is i didn't forget a #### thing. I needed to get updated on a couple new rules of hos. I didn't forget how to drive a big truck any more than i forgot how to screw......

 

I think all that high living in the Republic of California has made you grumpy and hostile. LOL

 

the truth be known i am just up to my ears with stupididty and stupid people , which i am pretty much surrounded by on a daily basis here.

The select few i work with or am privileged to associate with who are not stupid are a huge minority here in calif......

And yes living in that kind of enviroment makes you very grumpy and hostile.....

These frickin idiots wonder why folks go postal..... This recent experience cr ap is a perfect example of monumental stupidity.......

All drivers who have been turned down for jobs with plenty of experience but not enuf or none recently should file a class action lawsuit against the insurance industry. And also include the truckin schools as they more than likely have their hand in the pot pushing all this refresher cr ap.....

I needed refresher like you needed a hole i your head, update on hos rules yes i needed that and it took a whole 5 mins to figure that out if it took that long.....

Any driver whos worth anything, might need a little bit to get the feel of a strange truck. A few shifts to get the shift rhythym , learn the dash layout by touch, figure out the turn point........... Thats about all the refresher you need...

I didn't need a trucking school to learn to drive truck, and i sure,as water is wet, didn't need one to get back in the saddle...now that you ran up my bp i will get off my soap box and have a cup of coffee
