The RockTenn (formerly simpson paper) where I live is picky about trailers also, Have seen trailers with shaved rivets, kick plates not perfectly flat or skylight trailers with repairs showing get refused.

 

Yes as a company driver those things should be provided. But i have bought lots of work specific items & just filed them as unreimbursed expenses at tax time.
Better to just buy what you need or don't seat the truck without it in the first place. I get it, you worked for a cheap owner but be proactive so you can make money. The term, "self starter" comes to mind.

 

My question is are they a legit company good pay and equipment?

They’re a legit company fo sho. Even have dot & mc#’s to prove it. Lol

But if the text messages he screen shotted are any indication, i’d venture to say as employee you can count on getting ripped off

 

It seems the company screwed the pooch here. They were advised of the defects in the trailer and weren’t proactive about getting it to a shop to get it fixed. I’ve dealt with this issue numerous times at Western Express-especially when dealing with RockTenn/WestRock loads(they are VERY PICKY about the condition of van trailers).

 

Formula Express.Dot 3060769. They have a headquarters in Hollywood Florida and Brooklyn New York watch out for these Jokers. They do not care about the drivers and they will not pay you.

Formula Express owes me about $1,800 dollars.I never received my check for working for 3 weeks on the road... I hope the. DOT shut them.down. for violations unsafe drive-in. I will call the better business bureau and the IRS..

 

Stay away from formula Express DOT# 3060769. Hollywood Florida . Brooklyn New York a headquarters .if they send you to go get a truck do not go get a truck is probably an abandoned truck dirty nasty truck. That you will have to clean yourself ..
