Well, everybody's safe once again from my long-winded autobiographies. After 4 days of feverishly searching, emailing, applying, soul-searching, and beating down the anxiety attacks, I managed to land something today.
It was a company with which I had made a tentative agreement with in the summer about seasonal, winter employment to offset the layoff from my excavation/construction season. I was holding off until I ran out of options, because it's a job hauling propane and requires a lot of nights away from home in New England, due to the logistics of it all. Come to find out after 40 hours of non-stop job hunting, I didn't find a whole lot of options. Kind of un-nerving, for a guy who's been around a lot of different facets of the industry and who thought he'd never have trouble latching onto a job. Whew! That was close!
Not an owner of a laptop, so the chatter will be diminishing once I get working hopefully some time next week. Need to go get a TWIC card, which is basically a Homeland Security Background clearance on a plastic credit card, to gain access to loading facilities.Of course, that's gonna cost me $130.00 out of pocket, thanks to Mohammad and Achmed in 2001.

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Found a job...FINALLY!
