FOUND THE PERFECT TRUCK!!! BUT..........what do I ???????

    Do with this #### box in the back????
    Guy told me i can easily take it off, and shorten the wheelbase? for about 3000k ..so i can pull dryvan and reefer ..,
    any advice? really 3k?? any ideas how to cut cost ?

    Little background on truck:

    It was owned by one guy its whole life , and the guy lives close to me . He has all maintenance records and everything he changed on it . Its nice ride, good mg and its pre egr !!

    it was used for one of those van moving companies . i dont want the box .. I am going to use it for pulling dry van and reefer running interstate

    first why shorten it second what motor is in it because 14L didnt come on till later years...

    the guy said its 14 l for sure 550hp 2001 ...built date march 2001

    why shorten? dealer said it was to long for what i want to do...

    because i loveeeee t2000 its my fav truck body. i can make it aerodynimic and this truck could get high 6 mpg all day long. also the fact that it was owned by one person its all ;life and they have every record of anything done to the truck.... YOU KNOW HOW HARD IS TO FIND THAT ????I also like thAT 14 L PRE EGR.

    Don't let him keep the box. It may worth $1500 or so.

    I think that wheelbase is too long if you want decent fuel mileage.

    the 5th wheel on the back - looks like you might have to change that also, is it a slider? It appears to be as far back as possible. I would continue looking ... buy something where you don't have all kinds of work to get it rolling. This is one of those trucks that you spend your 25k for it, then more to get box taken off, more to shorten, along the way possibly more more more ...
