I hate the looks of the T2000. You like the looks of the T2000, one owner, 18 speed, records, pre egr detroit. In my opinion that truck could make some money.

Yeah older drivers quit every day and sell equipment. Maybe not "just down the road" but somewhere... Lots of one owner maintained trucks out there if you look, might take a while but what's the hurry anyways? For all the trouble modifying that tractor making it a typical dry van or reefer puller I'd pass too. There'll be so many other bugs to fix and work out you'll regret the day you spent money on a truck like that...

according to the ad. that truck weighs 52,000 lbs. what does it weight with the trailer???

given the position of the 5th wheel. i can't see a ton of weight sitting on front of the trailer.

shortening the frame, drivelines, all the hoses and electrical. removing the box. position the 5th wheel. i can see way more then $3,ooo being spent. and who knows what mechanical problems you might face down the road. or with a dot inspection.

what was the operation the owner had going?

Umm... no. That's the weight capacity/rating of the axles.

This kind of work is done all over on a regular basis, it's no big deal when done properly by a shop/individual that knows what they're doing. I had my '03 Classic shortened; zero issues, including inspections.

Leave the from box on it and put your motorcycle in it or make it into your own private shower !

Offer him $21 or $22, and get it shortened. The miles are low, it's pulled mostly light loads, and you know the history. If the AG 200 suspension hasn't been upgraded to Ag 400 specs, offer $20.

If I wanted another truck, and was in the market for a T-2000, I wouldn't be afraid of it.
