Yeah when someone is approaching from behind with their brights blinding me from my mirrors I hit them with my work lights and they are VERY bright. They usually get the hint.

I only use those in bad weather or fog.

I work with some nitwits who actually use their fog lights in place of their regular headlights.

The bad thing about it, it's becoming that some truck drivers are running fog lights when not needed as bad as four wheelers. I have noticed Swift drivers are the worst. I think they must tell them in training to use them all the time. The worst thing is, is when they run into something and knock the lights out of ajustment. And on that note, I believe Freightliner has the worst headlight design ever on their Columbia trucks. Everyone I pass it seems, there is one shining in the trees.

Back to the fog lights, I have heard that Tennessee is trying to pass a bill that it would be illeagal to use fog or running lights, unless conditions call for it. Maybe it will pass, and other states will follow suit.

Me personally, I have had 3 vehicles that have had fog lights and they don't work worth a s*** in the fog. Just my opinion.

I believe Colorado already has a law about fog lights and meeting people. I read it a couple of years ago. I will look for the law.

Some time back, I was tootling down a residential street when some yutz was coming at me with his high beams on. At least, I assume they were high beams. They were certainly too bright - I had to stop my vehicle because I couldn't see.

Fortunately, there was a LEO behind me.. and the pretty blue lights came on. For a half a second, I thought he was gonna have a chat with me, but he pulled a quick U and stopped the guy with the lights.

Part of the problem is those ultra bright lights - even the low-beams are blinding, and even when they are adjusted properly.

So - which is worse? the moron who doesn't turn his lights on in bad weather/twilight,or the one who uses lights that make the sun look like a darkroom?

What I hate is those #### halogens, especially the high beam halogens, I've been in close calls being blinded because of them but the fog lights in daylight is just stupid... But my top list is 4 wheelers with train horns.

I kniw that there are professional drivers that have the train horns, but never have I come across a four wheeler with that.

Have you found them to be in any specific place?

I know I'll certainly be on the lookout...or keep my listening out for that.

I had one last night coming up from behind that simply refused to cut off the high beams. I flashed my work lights to no avail then left them on an they still would not cut the darn things off.:biggrin_25512:

The main reason alot of swiftys run with the driving lights on is because the main low beams on the tractor suck big time and only light up about 20 feet of really dim light in front of you making it really hard to see. Ive had lots of swifts pass me in the opposite direction with there driving lights on and they dont bother me at all. But some people are sensitive to light. The people driving with high beams on really bothers me though I usually give a quick flash and if they dont get the hint and no ones behind them then ill just leave the high beams on, just so I can see since they are trying to blind me.

Next time a car with brights comes up from behind, use the power mirror to move the DS side all the way out to the left. It will shine the light straight back at the car.
