For someone with only 6 months experience .38 isn't that bad... Hopefully you get decent miles?

How do you make .38 cents a mile after 6 months?

There are truck drivers with some years under their belts who do NOT earn 38 cents a mile. For someone with 6 months under his or her belt, you are NOT doing badly. Lord willing, you are getting plenty of miles in addition to the 38 cents a mile.

New drivers continue to fall into the trap of looking for the highest CPM which doesn't mean much if you look at the big picture. A driver making .34 cpm can make more per year than a driver making .40 cpm because of assessorial pays. Ask any Schneider Bulk driver or any tanker/hazmat driver or any LTL driver.

Drivers looking only at cpm and going for the higher cpm also complain about their skimpy paychecks and blame the dispatcher. Many new CDL grads are making $52K - $65K right out of school because they didn't fall for the higher cpm ad gimmick.

    I am on a dedicated acct , miles aren't to bad .
    I am guaranteed 2300 a week , but I can get more.
one nice thing is as long as I dont mess up and be late. Say I only get 2100 for the week . They will cut a PO# for the remainder .

    Not to bad

Do you by chance recall the merger of J.B. Hunt, Stoops Express and Overland Transport?
    J.B. Stoops Over.
Never really got off the ground.
