So a pneumatic is a lot dustier? I’m assuming it takes a lot longer to load and unload ?

If you go to an oilfield you'll see sand containers everywhere. Pneumatic is a mess with any cargo, tank and hoses under pressure, leaks and blown parts and clouds of products not unlikely. Hose ends get run over and ovaled out, then hoses have to be changed. Even a good trailer takes time to unload and when it's doing that everyone else is waiting unless there are multiple tanks.

Boxes are faster and easier as long as the forklift works.

You could make half of six figures yet this year by hiring out with McLane or US Foods, you'll earn it though. @Radman might help. Sending up the Rad-signal.

So besides the wait times, it sounds like hauling sand is simple work.

It’s amaz how simple sandbox is. You can stay clean and not work in clouds of sand dust like you would with pneumatic

I’m not at all in favor of government control of things but they made a good call with Frac sand. The new exposure limits are so low that the only way pneumatic can still do sand is if they have massive vacuums sucking in sand dust on location.

OSHA gets some things wrong , well most things, but this one they got right

I figgered the advantages of sand box would kill the pneumatics on their merits without government intervention.......o_O

Sandbox is more expensive in that they need to get a forklift and have a few more crew dedicated to sand coordinating on location. The sand kings were cheaper.

Sandbox can only fit 45000 at most when pneumatic could bring twice that in one truck. Way overweight yes but when you pay pneumatic by the ton there are always drivers up to the challenge

Pneumatics aren't going away anytime soon. Yea there slowly being fazed out but in Ohio-pa its still more cans than boxes.

I'd rather pull a can the rates are quite a bit higher but as a company driver heck yea give me them boxes

Where you working out of? 2 summers ago I did quite a bit of 3rd party moves for us-ws. I don't think big blue is going to boxes anytime soon either, same with PumpCo.

I'm from north east pa but I know SE Ohio like the back of my hand. Can't tell you how many wells we cemented out there
