They just haul transfers with the hoppers as the railroad can't keep up or they are hauling from the mines to the rail. I've looked at some new sandcastles built for schlumberger that have a bucket elevator on them that takes bottom dump trailers to fill. The benefit of this is that there is no dust to worry about like blowing into movers.

    Don't do it!!!!!
I have a hopper and the sand isn't running, no matter what they say. I run for ALL the mines and very few are shipping anything. SIMX has Fairmont out of Brady and except for the dispatchers favorite lease trucks, and a few company trucks most are not doing anything. It's been that way since the beginning of November. If you license for those states you'd be better off running feed and commodities until it picks up again. When the sand is running it's really good pay, but you can't rely on it right now. On the plus side a lot of companies have new equipment for sale cheap. I'll sell you my hopper if you still want one. It's older but it's not 34000 either.
