Just have to find a reputable company. The boss is a straight shooter tells it like it is kind of guy. Very easy to work with. Before my dad bought these 2 trucks he drove for them 3 years grossing 95-105k a year.

Did you lease on with them?
If so, how are they treating you & are they keeping you busy?
Thanks for your reply -
this is oil field poetry lol
i haul crude, and my pay has dropped to 1300 - 1500 net in hobbs nm, i'm thinking of going back otr just because i only worked 8-9 hours a day, and I didnt get dirty, spend the whole day listening to music and smoking cigars. a couple otr flatbed companies telling me i can get 1100 - 1400 net,
so help me i'm about to do it. i'm sick of the dust, h2s, dirt roads, h2s, crappy trucks h2s and ####ty little town of hobbs.
But then if I can find a place where I can net 1500+ a week i may be happy. I'm thinking of sand, talked to a couple guys at PMI and they're clearing 1500+ a weekLast edited: Aug 24, 2019

Oilfield trucking companies are no different than otr companies....They all LIE!!! I drove out in West Texas(Midland/Odessa) Once again oilfield trucking is a money pyramid and the drivers are at the bottom. Oilfield trucking is a bunch of BS. If you dont believe me watch some of the oilfield trucking youtubers and pay attention to how they jump from company to company. It's a reason they do that.
Western flyer and silinus vers Thank this. -
on one hand I will be taking a 200-300 a week pay cut, on the other hand I will be physically working less, and wont be covered in oil and mud.
i used to do OTR flatbed, and I was never as dirty on a regular basis as i am hauling crude, i never inhaled as much toxic #### and dust. and at the end of the week when you really think about how much you were actually outside working, strapping-tarping, based on a 3-4 load a week avarage and including rush hour driving, its still less work to me than the 10 - 14 hour days I put in on a regular basis. getting in and out of the truck 4-6 times a night.
i can remember spending weeks on end wearing shorts and a t-shirt and my running shoes,
no FRs, no boots, oh and I could grow a beard, I miss my beard. lol
I just hate the idea of the paycut, but quality of life is starting to lean heavily in my thoughts.
I feel like if I dont get out, I'll die doing it. -
